Description:

A tropical evergreen tree up to 28ft/8m high with large, leathery leaves and aromatic fruits.

Actions:

Analgesic, anticonvulsant, antineuralgic, antirheumatic, antiseptic, astringent, expectorant, stimulant, hair tonic.

Extraction:

The oil is extracted by water or steam distillation from the leaves.

Characteristics:

A dark yellow, mobile liquid with a fresh spicy top note and a sweet-balsamic undertone. It blends well with lavender, rosemary, geranium, ylang ylang, citrus and spice oils.
