Description:
A reed-like perennial herb up to 13ft/4m high, with long, silky blade shape leaves. Its long, sheathing stems bear small, yellowish flowers with purple tips, which are followed by oblong red-brown seeds

Extraction:
The oil is extracted by steam distillation from the dried ripe seeds.
Characteristics:
A colorless to pale yellow liquid, with a sweet-spicy, warming fragrance and a woody-balsamic undertone. It blends well with rose, frankincense, orange bergamot, cinnamon, cloves, ylang ylang, cedarwood, neroli, and with oriental bases in general.
