Cedrus atlantica

Description:

Pyramidal evergreen tree, with a majestic stature up to 130ft/40m high. The wood is hard and strongly aromatic, due to its high essential oil content

Actions:

Antiseptic, antiputrescent, antiseborrheic, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative (to nervous system), stimulant (to circulatory system), tonic

Extraction:

The oil is extracted by steam distillation from the wood, stumps and sawdust

Characteristics:

A yellow, orange or deep amber, viscous oil with a warm, camphoraceous top note and sweet tenacious, woody, balsamic undertone. It blends well with bois de rose, bergamot, cypress, jasmine, juniper, neroli, mimosa, frankincense, clary sage, vetiver, rosemary, ylang ylang, oriental and floral bases
