A small tree or shrub with pinnate leaves and white of pale pink flowers. It yields a natural oleo-gum resin

The oil is extracted by steam distillation from selected oleo-gum resin (around 3-10% oil to 60-70% resin)
Characteristics:
A pale yellow or greenish mobile liquid with a fresh terpeney top note, and a warm, rich, sweet balsamic undertone. It blends well with sandalwood, pine, vetivert, geranium, lavender, neroli, orange, bergamot, and other citrus oils, camphor, basil, pepper, cinnamon, and other spice oils. Frankincense has the ability to slow down and deepen the breath - very conducive to prayer and meditation
