Description:

A small evergreen parasitic tree, up to 30ft/9m high with brown-gray trunk and many smooth slender branches. It has small pinky-purple flowers

Actions:

Antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrizant, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, insecticide, sedative, tonic.

Extraction:

The oil is extracted by water or steam distillation from the powdered and dried roots and heartwood.

Characteristics:

A pale yellow, greenish or brownish viscous liquid with a deep soft sweet-woody balsamic scent. It blends well with rose. clove, lavender, black pepper, bergamot, rosewood, geranium, benzoin, vetivert, patchouli, myrrh and jasmine
